Night Diving in a Nightmare

Once again, Here again
Sleeping
Waiting
For you

I was expecting maybe you could calm my thirst
Then I look around
And it's like a dream
A stream in which trout abound
Against the Waterfall they swim

Is it water what I see?
Is my mind blindfolding me?
As the waterfall keeps flowing, It's true colors flourish
The greens and the greys
The smells and the decays

I see the fish rotting
I see the river flowing envenomed
I can't see you anymore
Echoes of the fish's pain reach my mind
Enveloping my thoughts
Envenoming my soul

Night diving in a nightmare
Swiming against a torrent of liquids
Now becoming fear and anger.
Heavy drizzle strikes my face
My hope was for it to clean the chaotic waters
But the rain carried pain and sorrow in it's place

The perfect fusion of one element.
The savage rampage of one disaster
Of my perdition
Echoes of the fish's pain reach my mind
They are fading away
So am I

Opening my eyes, I now know
The disease within me has spread
At least I thought
But the nightmare has vanished
And you're still at my side
You
Holding my hand
Like you've always been
